Coffee & Cheese in Agassiz

Exploring our own backyard in the Fraser Valley!

The kids and I recently farm hopped on our way home from a beach day at Hick’s Lake (more on that in another blog), and we discovered a couple of new Fraser Valley gems! The credit actually goes to one of my besties who was visiting from out of town and found them for us. There is so much to do here in the mountainous and sprawling Fraser Valley. Two things the area boasts are beaches and farms.

Back Porch Coffee

On this afternoon, we found a really cool family owned and operated coffee roaster called Back Porch coffee. You can walk inside and smell and choose your coffee beans, which also serves as their pottery studio.  It’s a charming spot, the coffee is top notch and the prices are good too.

The Farm House

A few minutes away, we picked up handcrafted natural cheese at The Farm House. In the back of the property you can watch the goat families putter around and cross a really adorable little bridge with the towering Fraser Valley mountains in the background. The shop itself is all white and makes for really good photos. I’m partial to goat cheese so I bought a lot of that but they also sell cow’s milk cheese. On this afternoon they had in-house Vanilla Bean ice cream and it was so pure and delicious. I’m not one to choose Vanilla but it was totally worth it.

Consider both of these spots the perfect little drop-in stops on your way east or west, or while touring Agassiz and surrounding area.
