Juvenile Sturgeon Fishing

Sturgeon Slayers on the Fraser River in BC

I have been sturgeon fishing in the Fraser River in beautiful British Columbia since I met my partner in all things life and fishing and work, Kevin Estrada. Our guiding business Sturgeon Slayers allows us to fish for these fascinating prehistoric fish, while also carry out important research on the species. We measure and tag every sturgeon so that we can keep track of what they are up to and ensure their wellbeing for generations to come.

Kid Friendly Conservation

Lately, and since having kids, we especially like to focus on targeting baby sturgeon (also known as juvenile sturgeon) as they are an important part of the research. These beautiful little sturgeon are also a fantastic way to allow MY TWO BABIES, Yale and Tiger, to get into fishing. Yale can hold and then release them, as we educate her on the importance of handling best practices and all the cool details of the fish. Tiger will get there soon! For now, he just makes adorable noises at them and tries to kiss them.

There is no denying that getting to interact with a large dino is super exciting but there is definitely a charm in catching the little ones. It’s a totally unique experience and can be really fun for everyone including young families.
